Christopher Miller slams 'Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse' footage leak: 'Not a fan'

Miles Morales appears in this still from 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.' (Sony)

Footage from Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse has leaked, and Chris Miller is speaking out about it.

Four-and-a-half minutes of footage from the upcoming third film in the animated Spider-Verse franchise appeared in a recent unauthorized leak online. Its co-writer and producer Miller took to X to disavow the leak in a post Friday.

"Not a fan of leaks of unfinished, not fully rendered footage," Miller wrote.

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is scheduled to arrive in theaters on June 18, 2027. It has been delayed multiple times already.

It's unclear where this leaked footage came from, however, Sony showed off footage from the film at CinemaCon back in April.

The film continues the story of Miles Morales' journey as the webslinging superhero after 2018's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and its 2023 sequel Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

Phil Lord and Miller produce the movie and co-wrote it with David Callaham. Directors Justin K. Thompson and Bob Persichetti are also producers.

Shameik Moore stars once again as the voice of Miles Morales in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse while Hailee Steinfeld reprises her role as Spider-Gwen.

Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland) works at his desk in 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day.' (Jay Maidment)

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is continuing to break records.

The Sony Pictures film is now the fastest movie to make $700 million at the domestic box office. It reached $704.5 million on Wednesday, according to numbers from the studio.

It currently stands at #6 on the all-time North American box office chart, meaning it swung past Black Panther's sum of $700 million to get there. The next title it could pass is Top Gun: Maverick, which earned a sum of $718 million domestically.

Additionally, the film has earned over $1.108 billion internationally, making it Sony Pictures’ biggest film of all time overseas. It surpassed Spider-Man: No Way Home's total of $1.106 billion to get to that spot. It's also now the 10th highest-grossing film ever internationally.

Brand New Day opened in theaters on July 31. Its box office run continues with its upcoming third weekend on the horizon.

Tom Holland stars as the titular webslinger in the movie. Zendaya and Jacob Batalon also return in this fourth film in the franchise, which is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton.

Sadie Sink joins the universe alongside Tramell Tillman and Liza Colón-Zayas. Marvel mainstays who also appear in the movie are Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova/Black Widow, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk and Marisa Tomei as May Parker.

The film follows Peter Parker as he fights full time as Spider-Man in a world who doesn't remember who he is. As he sees his old friends move on without him, Peter sparks a change "he may not have the power to control," according to an official description. "But that transformation might also be the only thing that can stop a shocking new threat to the city and those he loves — a powerful villain no one can even see. The world may have forgotten Peter Parker, but he hasn’t forgotten them."

Nick Reiner has been indicted on charges alleging he murdered his parents, renowned director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Reiner, by means of lying in wait, prosecutors announced Wednesday.

The indictment, which was returned on July 20 and unsealed Wednesday, charges Nick Reiner with two counts of murder with the special circumstance allegations of multiple murders and murder by means of lying in wait, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office. Nick Reiner also faces a special allegation that he used a dangerous and deadly weapon, a knife, the office said.

Nick Reiner, 32, pleaded not guilty to the indictment on Wednesday. He remains held on no bond and is next scheduled to appear in court for a pretrial hearing on Sept. 15.

Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner were found stabbed to death in their Brentwood home on Dec. 14, 2025. The night before their deaths, Nick Reiner — who had been living on his parents' property at the time — got into an argument with Rob Reiner at a holiday party and was seen acting strangely, sources told ABC News in December.

Nick Reiner was arrested and initially charged with two counts of murder with the special circumstance allegation of multiple murders, as well as faced a special allegation that he used a dangerous and deadly weapon.

The indictment, which added a special allegation of lying in wait, means the case will no longer have a preliminary hearing that had been scheduled to occur in the coming weeks.

This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.

Nicholas Hoult is headed to Hogwarts.

The actor is set to play Gilderoy Lockhart in season 2 of HBO's upcoming Harry Potter TV series.

HBO Max made the announcement in a post to Instagram on Tuesday.

The first season of the series, titled Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, debuts on HBO and HBO Max on Dec. 25. Its season 2 renewal was announced on May 6.

Gilderoy Lockhart was previously played by Kenneth Branagh in the 2002 film Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. The character is a famous, vain wizard known for his heroic acts that he has described in books written about himself. He takes over as the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts.

Dominic McLaughlin leads the cast of the upcoming show as Harry Potter. He stars alongside Alastair Stout and Arabella Stanton, who play Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. The series is described as a faithful adaptation of the books by J.K. Rowling, who serves as an executive producer.

Succession's Jon Brown, who was a writer on season 1, has been promoted to co-showrunner for season 2. He will serve in the role alongside Francesca Gardiner, the showrunner of season 1.

Jenna Fischer has joined in on the support for Lucy Davis after the actress revealed she has incurable breast cancer.

Davis, known for playing Dawn Tinsley in the U.K. version of The Office, took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a health update. She announced she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2025 and that the disease has metastasized to her bones.

"A year and a half ago I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer, which has metastasized to my bones. Specifically to my spine, right hip, and my ribs. The cancer is incurable, and too late for chemo," Davis wrote.

She continued, "As of now, I’m trying to live out whatever might be left of my life in as fun a way as I possibly can. I always like to find the teachable moments in anything negative that happens. And cancer has not disappointed in that regard; there’s a lot I have learned from it, and I’m grateful for that."

Davis said she wants to continue working as long as she can.

"I still would like to keep working. I’m perfectly able to do so, and acting is one of the biggest joys in my life," she wrote. "For those of you on a similar journey to mine, I do wish you well. Cancer asks a lot from us, physically and mentally. And we all get to do it however we choose."

Her post garnered support from her many fans and famous friends. Fischer, who played her counterpart character Pam Beesly in the U.S. version of The Office, commented, “Beautiful post. Love you lots. And yes to working with cancer! Let’s spread that message far and wide! How working is such a comfort!”

Fischer herself is a breast cancer survivor. She revealed she was living cancer free in 2024 after she had been diagnosed with triple positive breast cancer.

Davis' Shaun of the Dead director Edgar Wright also shared support. He commented, "Love you Lucy. Always. See you very soon." Sarah Paulson also took to the comments, writing, "you are and always have been full of magic."

Anne Hathaway stars as Verity Crawford and Josh Hartnett as Jeremy Crawford in 'Verity.' (Alisha Wetherill)

The official trailer for Verity is here.

Amazon MGM Studios has released a new trailer for its upcoming film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's bestselling psychological thriller.

Anne Hathaway stars alongside Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett in the movie, which finds Hathaway also producing and Johnson executive producing.

The film follows author Verity Crawford (Hathaway) and Lowen Ashleigh (Johnson), "a struggling writer who relocates to the remote Crawford estate to ghostwrite for Verity," according to its official synopsis. "After Lowen uncovers what appears to be Verity's chilling autobiographical notes, she wrestles with the disturbing and twisted confessions about Verity’s husband Jeremy (Hartnett), and finds it hard to separate fiction from reality, manipulation from attraction, and opportunity from obsession."

The new trailer finds Johnson's Lowen approached by Hartnett's Jeremy to finish writing Verity's final novel.

"Her fans know her voice. They would know it's not her," Lowen says.

Later in the trailer, Lowen finds a draft of Verity's autobiography.

"A writer's words should be honest, and bloody, and a little bit terrifying," Hathaway's Verity says in a voice-over.

Verity arrives in theaters on Oct. 2.

Brad Pitt is getting candid about his life behind the scenes, opening up about sobriety and his mental health.

In a wide-ranging interview with Esquire published on Monday, the Academy Award winner said he's no longer sober and that he had felt suicidal at one point over "family stuff."

"I was sober for seven years," Pitt said. "And then I got back off the wagon. In a more restrained manner. I got overconfident a couple times, went, 'Yep, nope, not good for me. Not in big quantities.'"

Pitt said he can drink a few glasses of wine now but added that he "can't have a lot," saying that he has to be "professional about it."

Last year, the F1 actor opened up about his experience attending Alcoholics Anonymous. He also has previously credited Bradley Cooper for helping him get sober.

Elsewhere in the interview, Pitt opened up about the death of his mother in August 2025.

His mother's death was one of several challenging moments he said he faced involving family, which he said led him to an especially low point in his life.

"I've never been suicidal except for one little period. And in that one little period, I just thought — I just couldn't — just didn't see a way out," he said, describing the pain he felt at the time as "oppressive."

"Yeah. Like, listen: This s*** ain't easy," he added. "And you're talking to a guy who won the lottery."

Pitt's next movie role is in Heart of the Beast. He's also a producer on the project.

Pitt plays Special Forces Officer James Belmont in the film, who, along with his combat dog Odin, finds himself "stranded deep in the Alaskan wilderness," according to a synopsis.

The film is directed by David Ayer and written by Cameron Alexander. J.K. Simmons and Anna Lambe also star in it.

Heart of the Beast arrives in theaters on Sept. 25.
